Inclusion & Support
Learning support at Al Najah
We are an inclusive school, and our Learning Support Department makes sure every child’s educational needs are met — whatever those needs may be.
Every child can learn
At ANPS we believe that all students can learn — maybe not on the same day, or in the same way. After all, we are all different, yet we are all the same.
Each student is unique in their own way. Our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for our students to flourish and mature emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually.
ANPS is an inclusive school that provides equal learning opportunities to all students, no matter how different they are.
To learn and be educated is important — but what matters even more is to enjoy the journey, without the struggle.
Who we support
The Learning Support Department is dedicated to supporting students academically, emotionally and socially — working alongside classroom teachers to help three groups of learners thrive.
Learners who need extra help
Students who are finding a subject or skill difficult in class are referred to our team for focused, targeted support.
Students with special needs
Children with additional educational needs receive an individualised plan built around their strengths, their pace and their goals.
Gifted and talented students
Learners who are ready for more are stretched and extended, so their ability keeps growing alongside their classmates.
How support works
Support is personal, planned, and built together with the people who know each child best.
1. Referral
Classroom teachers refer a student to the Learning Support team when they notice a child would benefit from extra help.
2. An individualised plan
The team works closely with parents and teachers to design a plan tailored to that student’s needs and goals.
3. Support in and out of class
Students stay included in the general classroom, with focused pull-out sessions taught one to one or in small groups.
4. Progress, together
We review progress with families and teachers and adjust the plan, so every child keeps moving forward.
What we want for every child
Behind every plan are three simple hopes.
To feel safe and welcomed
Every child should feel safe, welcomed and loved at school — that is where real learning begins.
To grow in confidence
Included in the general classroom, students build the confidence and self-esteem to take on new challenges.
To feel proud
We want every child to feel proud of themselves as they see their own progress and improvement.
Support that meets your child where they are
Have a question about how we support a particular learner? Ms. Yomen Ghaleb and the Learning Support Department are always glad to talk it through.
